ERNEST HAWKINS CAPTURES MEN'S TITLE AT NCCU EAGLES CROSS COUNTRY CLASSIC

DURHAM, NC – Ernest Hawkins (Jr., Raleigh, NC) won his first collegiate cross country event this past weekend by capturing the Men’s Individual title at the NCCU Eagles Cross Country Classic held at Forest Hills Park.

Hawkins, who has been the Broncos’ top finisher in each of their five events this season, ran the course in 27:12.83. He won the event unattached by two seconds over second-place finisher Torian Bailey from Saint Augustine’s.

He was one of two Fayetteville State runners to race unattached as Anthony Mullen (So, Newport News, VA) also participated in the event. Mullen finished the race with a time of 33:51.58.
