WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES THIRD AT NCCU EAGLES CROSS COUNTRY CLASSIC

DURHAM, NC – The Fayetteville State women’s cross country team geared up for the CIAA Championships this week as it finished in third place at the NCCU Eagles Cross Country Classic held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Forest Hills Park.

Host North Carolina Central picked up the victory in team competition with 24 points and Saint Augustine’s recorded 31 points for a second place finish. The Lady Broncos compiled 78 points to round out the meet.

Amanda Anderson (So., Hope Mills, NC) was the top finisher for Fayetteville State with a 12th place finish and time of 26:14.35. Anderson has been the Lady Broncos’ top finisher in every meet this season, and the 12th place finish is her second-highest of the year. Nia Trawick (Fr., Fayetteville) posted her second-best finish as she placed 15th with a time of 27:13.45. Renee Guischard (Fr., Fayetteville, NC) finished right behind Trawick in 16th place and ran the course in 28:05.88. Chiquanna Anderson (Fr., Washington, DC) and Rachael Hays (Fr., Omaha, NE) were the final two finishers for Fayetteville State. Anderson finished 18th with a time of 28:42.73 and Hays crossed the finish line in 28:56.86 for a 19th place finish.
