March 21, 2007 Fayetteville State University men's track and field team turned in an impressive performance during the 2007 Braves Track and Field Classic at Irwin Belk Complex in Pembroke, North Carolina on Saturday, March 17. The event had seven schools: Coker College, Fayetteville State University, Francis Marion University, Methodist University, University of North Carolina-Pembroke, Saint Andrews, and Shaw University. Nineteen Broncos had an outstanding performance. Fayetteville State had seven top 10 finishers in their first meet of the 2007 season. Bobby Wilder took third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.49. Teammate Howard Fuller was fifth with an 11.52 time. Also making a showing in the 100 meter dash were Pierre Clay, 7th (11.82) and Jeffery Cox, 9th (12.00). In the 200 meter dash Pierre Clay finished fifth, running the event in 23.50 and Howard Fuller finished 7th, running the event in 23.79. Frank Bentley earned eighth place in the 400 meter dash running the distance in 54.88. The 4 x 100 relay team of Brad Woods, Lucius McCravin, Pierre Clay and Bobby Wilder, finished third with a time of 44.32 seconds. In the field events, Lucius McCravin, the Broncos' top finisher, was second in the triple jump with a leap of 12.67 m (41'7").
