Smith University athletics through a men's and women's basketball CIAA Championship seasons, hosting the 2010 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and the launch of the Commemorative Classic (annual football clash between JCSU and Livingstone College).
"We're excited to have Lamont joining our department here at Fayetteville State," said athletics director Dr. Edward McLean. "He brings a wealth of knowledge as it pertains to media relations and sports information. "I'm grateful for this opportunity to reconnect with the city of Fayetteville and achieve positive, national exposure by telling the stories of Fayetteville State University Athletics," said Hinson. "I look forward to working alongside my new athletic director Dr. Edward McLean as well as the entire athletic staff at FSU. To my esteemed chancellor, Dr. James Anderson, thanks for allowing me to serve the university and advance my career.
