Fayetteville State star golfer Jacob Barge's marathon stretch of competitive golf finally came to a close on Thursday with the third and final round of the NCAA Division-II Championship, where he completed his triumphant first season at Fayetteville State after a 5-over 77 to finish in a tie for 81st at 14-over 230 at the Cardinal Club Golf Course. Barge, a junior from Fayetteville who won the PGA Division-II Minority Golf Championship at The PGA Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., on Sunday, opened his round with a bogey before another bogey at the sixth hole dropped him to 4 over for the championship, which is being played at the 7,092-yard Cardinal Club Golf Course.
